A Registered Dietitian with master’s degree in food, nutrition and dietetics, Ms. Lakdawala is also a certified diabetes educator and a yoga trainer. Her expertise lies in clinical nutrition with special interest in bariatric nutrition, non-surgical weight loss, digestive issues, enteral feeding and paediatric oncology.
An in-depth knowledge of the science behind food preparation, in addition to patient counselling helps her to be more creative in planning nutritious and yet tasty patient friendly recipes. This makes her diet planning more practical and sustainable.
Her recipe has been featured in the 1st edition of IFSO (International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders) cookbook for bariatric patients which is recognized globally.
She is the first Asia Pacific recipient of the prestigious IFSO integrated health scholarship 2018, in Dubai.
She is a co-editor of the book- “Management of Nutritional and Metabolic Complications of Bariatric Surgery” published by Springer. She has also contributed a chapter on ‘Nutritional Support in Bariatric Surgery’ in a book on ‘Principles in Critical Care Nutrition’.
She was the Course Co-director of “Advanced Bariatric Nutrition Course (Online)”, an exceptional program endorsed by IFSO, OSSI and University of Sunderland, UK; that helped nutritionists across the globe to train in the field of bariatric nutrition.
